3rd Anniversary Quiz Answers

Thank you dear friends, readers, participants and lovers of the quiz and the blog!
Thank you for the overwhelming response! It was also nice to see you, Lomo and Andi, who put their annual appearance at the birthday celebrations. Good to know, that you are there somewhere in the background. Maybe this is also a good opportunity to thank all the dear readers, who read the posts but can’t respond. THANK YOU everybody for all the support, love and affection you shower on me and the blog.

It was great fun for me to put the quiz together, but what was difficult, was to give points. In fact most of the participants gave all the answers right. There were only small technical mistakes, like forgetting to name a singer or the film name explicitly. So the points scored show rather my stringency, or shall we say tight-fistedness in giving points, rather than the participants’ knowledge of the songs.

Nobody got the answer to the 20 points question. What’s more, some also attempted to solve it. In fact, I would have been really surprised if anybody had got it right. Who would keep the statistics of this blog? 🙂
Maybe I should have framed the question properly. My mistake!

Sunehriyaadein had the best go at that question and her answer had me in splits for hours. With her kind permission I’m sharing it here.

 

Happy 3rd Birthday to My Blog and a Quiz

How time flies! I have a feeling that the last quiz was some two months ago and in fact a year has passed since and my nanha munha blog is already three years old. Happy Birthday my dear harveypam blog. You have given me many moments of pleasure and have always been an outlet for my creative energy. More than that, lots of thanks goes to the readers of this blog and the commentators, who have always encouraged me and sent me many songs, which were new for me. The comments also provided me with information, which I didn’t have before. Besides info and songs, it was always fun to communicate with you. Thank you from the bottom of my heart!

I have already written about the blog’s past history and the form it has taken now. And this quiz has a lot to do with it. This quiz-pattern isn’t my invention. Some Hindi-Filmi-Sangeet deewane had been practising it on the discussion forum rec.music.indian.misc. (RMIM) for a long long time. Here is an example. Since few years it has been abandoned.

Drunken Quiz and Clever Answers

First of all I would like to thank everybody for their good wishes to my/our blog on its birthday.
The quiz got a nice response. Shashi and Samir sent me the answers the very next day. They had some sophisticated techniques to get to the answers. Samir in his feedback to the quiz elaborated on it. Samir, would you be so kind to post it also in the comments section below? It is very enlightening!
Lalitha was very industrious and worked till the last hour and sent me her answer four hours back.
Totally eight persons sent me their answers and it was fun going through them. Lomo and Andi were new for me. They told me that they usually read my posts and the comments by the readers and that they enjoy it a lot and at times more the comments than the post itself (so says Andi).

Happy Birthday to My Blog and a Quiz

Two years back, when I started this blog, I had completely a different vision in my mind for it. I had thought I would be reviewing films from all over the world. Somehow I ended up making theme-lists of songs. There are many reasons for it, which I myself don’t know!
When the blog started, many of the readers from other blogs, whom I had got acquainted with came and supported me with their comments and encouraging me to go ahead with it. I am really very grateful to them. But somehow after the review of Indien, my ambition lost steam and the overwhelming response to the come-back maanjhi (boatman) song list, put me back on track. This just goes to show what readers and comments and their commentators mean to this blog. It won’t exist without them. Thank you my dear readers and commentators. Big thanks from the bottom of my heart.
What better words than from S. H. Bihari can express my feelings!
bahut shukriya badi meharbani (many thanks, it is a great act of favour)

Speaking of getting drunk, this is also the theme of my small gift to you. It is a quiz, to work your small grey cells on, which are hopefully unscatehd by alcohol comsumption 😉 .
